John 8:12

I found out this past week that our nearby, elderly neighbor passed away.  She was an outgoing Christian and we’ll miss her.  Her address is no longer on our street.  Her house is dark inside.  But we take comfort in knowing that where she lives now, there is no darkness.  What’s her address?  She lives in Heaven in light with the light of this world, Jesus.

Revelation 4:1-3, 5:11-12    Revelation 21

You have probably written, entered and spoken your address many times by now.  Even kindergartners are expected to know their address.  The address of our earthly house is what we visualize as home.  But for a Christian, where is our true home?  Yes, Heaven.  It is a beautiful, perfect place with a rainbow, singing angels, precious stones, pearls, gold, etc.  Heaven is a home that doesn’t need repairs.  No bills come in the mail.

For me, the best part of Heaven will be living with God, Jesus and loved ones for eternity.  How about you?

I saw a poem for kids called, “I Love God Poem.”  It says, “…Heaven’s my home.  Earth’s my test.”  Let’s pray we’ll do our best!
