Haggai 2:23

In Haggai 2:23, God chose Zerubbabel and declared, “…I will make you like my signet ring.”  God could have said, “like a signet ring,” but he declared, “like my signet ring.”  So now, I’m picturing God with a large signet ring.

The Reformation Study Bible, by R. C. Sproul, explains that a signet ring, “…was a symbol of authority and power.”  He also added that, “Zerubbabel was God’s chosen representative to accomplish His work.  Isaiah spoke of a greater Servant who would come, whom Zerubbabel foreshadows.  Jesus is both the descendant of Zerubbabel and the Servant of God.”
