John 20:24-29

The other day, my husband, kids and I were talking about scars.  John told the kids about a scar he has on his right hand that he got when he was a teen.  I told them about a scar I have on the knuckle of my right index finger I got as a teen.  I was working in a restaurant during a very busy time.  We ran out of lemons for tea, so I grabbed a lemon and a knife and quickly started cutting, accidentally slicing my knuckle.  It bled and I have a permanent scar that’s a check mark design.

When Thomas wanted to see and touch Jesus’ “nail marks,” I’m assuming that meant scars from the nails.  The scar-producing experiences John and I had are nothing compared to what Jesus experienced.  Let’s never forget what Jesus went through for us!
