Exodus 20:1-17, John 20: 24-31

While shopping earlier this month, I saw a cashier with a large yoga Buddha statue tattoo on her arm.  Wikipedia says, “The most ancient sustained expression of yogic ideas is found in the early sermons of the Buddha.”  Wikipedia further states that, “Scholars are hesitant to make unqualified claims about the historical facts of the Buddha’s life…According to author Michael Carrithers, while there are good reasons to doubt the traditional account, “the outline of the life must be true: birth, maturity, renunciation, search, awakening and liberation, teaching, death.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhism

First, those familiar with the Bible know that the Lord our God is against idols people make.  So, if you love God, you won’t have a Buddha statue tattoo or a Buddha statue anywhere.

Second, notice that the original Buddha died.  However, after Jesus died, he rose again and showed his wounds to others, including Thomas, who had initially doubted.  After he touched Jesus’ side and where the nails were, he believed.

If you’re like that cashier that seems to think Buddha is where it’s at, please ditch that belief!  Can a dead Buddha love you?  No.  Before 2015 happens, seek Jesus who loved you enough to die for your sins!
