Nehemiah 8:13-18

What are booths?  The booths I’m referring to are not restaurant booths, but rather booths from the Old Testament.  In the above Scripture, the people found out that they were to stay in booths for a certain amount of time.

The Reformation Study Bible says, “This temporary living arrangement was a reminder of life in the wilderness after the redemption from Egypt and before entering the Promised Land.”

Nehemiah 8:15-16 gives a rough idea of what booths might have looked like. Angelfire.com says booths are huts, so I hope that’s a helpful visual for this portion of Scripture.
