Judges 10:3-5

These verses are about a judge named Jair.  The Liberty Bible Commentary says, “He is one of the three minor judges who is said to have had a large family, suggesting his influence in the community.”  Think of someone you think has a lot of kids and then compare that family to Jair’s family. How does that family stack up to Jair’s thirty sons?  Yes, thirty!  That’s more than a typical elementary school class; and each one of his sons got a donkey to ride.  Jair must have indeed had influence in the community to distribute thirty donkeys to all of his sons who oversaw thirty towns.

Thirty sons?  Thirty donkeys?  Thirty towns?  There must be some significance to the number thirty, but I checked several sources and they didn’t address the meaning of thirty in the above verses.
