Exodus 1:22, 2:1-10

Pharaoh’s daughter evidently disagreed with her dad’s violent decree regarding baby boys.  She paid Moses’ birth mom to take care of him and then later adopted him.  It was surely bittersweet for the birth mom to see her son go and be named by an Egyptian.  He might have had a Hebrew name and had to get used to his new name, Moses.  At that time, Moses was a child and might have cried being left with a new person.
